Melissa Neubart has been part of the ASAS team since October 2014. As the Development and Marketing Manager of the Newark and New York Chapters, Melissa’s roles include organizing outreach efforts, managing relationships with new and existing donors, as well as developing Newark and Newark Chapters’ communication and engagement strategies.
Prior to joining ASAS, she was the Director of Community Relations at the Newark Mentoring Movement (NMM), a non-profit that transformed the Newark community through positive mentoring relationships. While at NMM, she supported local schools and youth serving agencies, collectively serving over 2,300 youth, to create effective mentoring programs. She led two yearlong non-profit development training series in partnership with McKinsey & Company, as well as planned two annual Celebrity Golf Outings, raising over $520,000.
Prior to Melissa joining NMM, she served as an AmeriCorps VISTA volunteering in the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office. There, she developed a strategy for a statewide mentoring partnership that would offer services on the best practices of mentoring. She holds a BA in Psychology from University of Delaware, with minors in Human Development & Women’s Studies.
Melissa is extremely excited to be part of the After-School All-Stars team. She is dedicated to ensuring that students in the Newark and New York Chapters have engaging and innovative after-school experiences!
